Advanced Placement Courses

Rim High School offers the following Honors and Advanced Placement Courses:

  • English Honors 1 (9th grade)
  • English Honors 2 (10th grade)     
  • Integrated Math Honors 2 (9th grade)
  • Integrated Math Honors 3  (10th grade)       
  • AP English Language and Composition (11th grade)    
  • AP English Literature and Composition (12th grade)     
  • *AP Calculus AB 
  • *AP Statistics
  • *AP Physics C:  Mechanics  (11th,12th grade)  
  • *AP Biology            
  • AP World History (10th grade)      
  • AP U.S. History (11th grade)
  • AP U.S. Government and Politics (12th grade)   
  • *AP Art 2-D Studio Art         
  • *AP Art 3-D Ceramics           
  • *AP Computer Science (11th and 12th grade)     
  • AP Psychology (11th and 12th grade)  

* In order to take these courses, a pre-requisite course is required.

Students who complete Advanced Placement courses are encouraged to complete the related AP examination to demonstrate subject mastery and to earn college credit.

The Advanced Placement exams are taken by students during May.  Students need to pick up the AP exam applications at the ASB office.  The deadline to submit application and pay for AP exams is November 8, 2019.  The cost per exam is $94.00.  Students receiving free or reduced lunch qualify for the reduced exam rate of $53.00.  You must see your counselor to receive the reduced fee waiver.

Colleges and universities may give students college credits to students passing an AP exam with a score of 3 or better.  Some colleges and universities give college credit to students passing AP exams with a score of 4 or better.
