Lake Arrowhead Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club Assists Rim Music

In more recent years, the program has changed hands continuously and because of this inconsistency, the level of musicianship as well as the equipment has been in decline. As the new Music Director of the program, I can state that one of my goals is to re-establish the music program as a staple of the community. My goal is to provide the mountain with quality performances by our very talented students and to bring the music education in our schools to a consistent and good level.

I presented a few of our current pressing issues to the Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club and they really rose to the challenge!

They have provided us with the funds to purchase new Drum Major maces and cleaning supplies for our instruments!

The Drum Major mace is the instrument and tool of our Marching Scots’ leader. It allows parade competitions and football games to be more efficient in regard to signals that our drum major submits. Our maces are all broken and fly apart at the touch. The Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club has now given us the opportunity to replace them!

We need cleaning supplies for our instruments. It appears as though past directors did not put a premium on maintaining and caring for instruments, and this has caused damage and deterioration of such to continue at a fast pace. If the program had sufficient cleaning tools and supplies, students would be able to understand and care for their instruments, which would save everyone money in the long run! The Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club agreed with us and gave us sufficient funds to purchase cleaning materials for EVERY student in our program for the 2022-2023 school year!

Thank you so much for helping us!
